Preschool & Kindergarten
In addition to the Wee Care program for infants and toddlers, the Academy offers an educational preschool program for K3 and K4. Each morning features an educational time designed to engage young students and create a desire for a lifetime of learning. Basic literacy and numeracy skills are taught using a variety of proven methods. Hands-on learning and learning through constructive play is emphasized. Foundational social skills and basic charater traits are taught and modeled. Each day includes educational group times, individualized learning opportunities, guided play, large and small motor development activities and much more. Children are also given an opportunity each day to learn simple Bible stories, songs and verses that emphasize God's love for them. The afternoon preschool program offers traditional childcare and includes lunch, naptime, free play and snack. K3 and K4 students have the option of consistently attending 3, 4 or 5 days per week and are charged the corresponding rate.
Brentwood's kindergarten program is available to students whose 5th birthday occurs By September 1st and who have demonstrated a readiness that will allow them to succeed in a K5 classroom. Our K5 program is an educational program that focuses on early reading, comprehension and numeracy skills. By the end of K5, students will be reading short books, performing basic math computations, reading simple analog clock times, etc. Children are encouraged through hands-on learning to develop basic skills that will prepare them to succeed at the 1st grade level. Simple Bible truths about God's love, as well as basic positive character qualities, are emhasized through daily group times, songs, stories, etc. Like the K3 and K4 preschool program, the afternoon program offers traditional childcare and includes lunch, naptime, free play and snack. K5 students are required to consistently attend 5 days per week, but may choose to leave at the conclusion of the morning educational time.
Extended childcare is available for both preschool and K5 students from 7:00 - 8:30 a.m. when school begins, and from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. when the Academy closes for the day. This care is included in the tuition rate. A student's tuition also includes lunch and two snacks per day for all children in attendance at the time of serving. Care is also available during most school breaks at no additional charge.
